Most Eggs Are Not Humanely Produced
Sheboygan Press
March 20, 2008
Regarding the story in The Sheboygan Press "Easter and eggs go together,
naturally," on March 18, sadly, there is nothing natural about how most
egg-laying hens are raised in the U.S. today.
More than 95 percent of eggs sold in grocery stores come from birds that
are forced to spend their lives confined inside barren wire cages so
restrictive they can barely even move. Deprived of almost everything
natural to them, these smart and social hens will never nest, dust
bathe or even set foot outside.
This Easter season, express your compassion by choosing egg-free
foods. Learn more at www.EggIndustry.com.
