This past year, COK has seen more success than ever before. While each of the last seven years has been filled with hard work and tenacious dedication, 2001 was undoubtedly the most definitive year for COK.

Not only did we conduct our first undercover investigation, but the publicity that ensued from our exposé of the egg industry was greater than we ever expected.

COK's acquisition of the FaunaVision van brought us to a new level of animal advocacy. The mobile theater lets us take the message to the streets and show the public exactly what happens to the animals we eat, wear, experiment on, and exploit for “entertainment.”

And, for the first time ever, COK hired a full-time employee to work with our countless volunteers, dedicating seven days each week to the organization.

However, 2002 promises to be another exciting year for COK. We launched the year with a new undercover investigation, whose findings I hope will not only sadden animal advocates, but also inspire us to work even harder this year to bring about animal liberation.

So, as you read through this issue of The Abolitionist, please keep in mind that animals cannot liberate themselves. The only hope they've got is that enough caring people will do everything in their power to finally free them from the enslavement they've been forced to endure for far too long.

In the struggle,

Miyun Park, President
