Welcome to the 11th issue of The Abolitionist! These are truly exciting times for COK. We recently completed an investigation and rescue at ISE-America's battery egg facility in Cecilton, Md., and held press conferences in Washington, D.C., and Annapolis, Md., to make public our findings.

The Washington Post, USA Today, and the Baltimore affiliates of CBS and FOX all featured the story. And, as our efforts to expose the plight of the hens at ISE ran on the Associated Press and United Press International wires, many other papers may have picked up the story. Hundreds of thousands of people read about and saw the horrific conditions in a modern egg production facility. But, even more importantly, the lives of eight hens have been drastically altered, going from complete and total misery to relief and freedom. Needless to say, the response to this investigation and rescue has been overwhelming.

As you read though the pages of this issue, please know that COK's crucial work on behalf of animals only exists because of supporters like you. Please don't hesitate to contact us (see side bar) if you have any questions or suggestions for COK. Together, we can achieve what was thought to be unachievable. Indeed, we don't have any other choice.

In the struggle,
Miyun Park
President
